Notice of Project Commencement: Mud Creek Restoration – Reach 2 and Reach 5

Please be advised that Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), in partnership with Parks, Forestry, & Recreation (PF&R), is preparing to undertake channel restoration works along sections of Mud Creek (Reach 2 and Reach 5) within Moore Park Ravine.

This work will help improve storm water flows and ravine health, address public safety conditions, and reduce erosion of public and private property.

Approximately 20 trees over 10 cm diameter will be removed to facilitate construction and access along Reach 2 (located south of the Governors Road Bridge). A long-term forest management strategy is being developed by PF&R to replace the removed trees, increase species diversity and enhance the ecological value along the Beltline Trail. Please be advised that the tree removals are expected to start as early as tomorrow morning.

The attached Notices of Project Commencement (NOPCs) will be hand delivered to residents near the work areas that may be impacted by noise and/or material deliveries. Project information and trail closure signs will also be posted in the vicinity of the project areas to notify the Public of the works.
