Location: Signs Restaurant, 558 Yonge Street
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Please join us to learn and discuss what urban agriculture is, how it is being used today, and how you may be able to become an urban farmer yourself! Our two expert speakers, Steven Peck and Katie German, will provide a breadth of knowledge and experience in cultivating, processing, and distributing food in an urban setting.

Steven Peck- is the founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, the North American green roof and wall industry association. Since 1996, he has worked to advance the green roof and wall industry by facilitating research and demonstration projects; organizing conferences and workshops; and advocating for supportive policies and standards at all levels of government.

Katie German – is a dynamic speaker, a skilled farmer, and the senior coordinator of Toronto FoodShare’s School Grown program, a schoolyard farming project that employs students in running urban market gardens. This innovative project which was recognized as a Vital Idea by the Toronto Community Foundation, is part of FoodShare’s Field To Table Schools program, leading a movement of change in the way children and youth eat, grow, and learn.
