Bees, Butterflies and Why We Need Them

Idea Distillery # 10 – One Week Today

Bees, Butterflies and Why We Need Them
Date: Tuesday, May 5th, 2015
Location: Signs Restaurant, 558 Yonge Street
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Join us as we learn about the relationship between farming, habitat and pesticides.  Pollinators truly do affect the health of our communities, environment and foodshed.  Learn how we can contribute to their health by understanding the relationship between the growing of food and pollinators.

Bryan Gilvesy joins us from ALUS – Alternative Land Use Services  – where he has pioneered different native and natural techniques to provide habitat for native pollinators. With much success these techniques have been adopted on farms across Canada. Bryan has worked with much of the global pollinator research and is an experienced educator in this field.
