April 2016

Just a few quick updates…

1. Did you know it’s Rail Safety Week? Seems we are finally getting some real traction on this issue….

2. As you hopefully know, we are pleased to welcome Transport Minister Marc Garneau to a Town Hall this Wednesday April 27 from 6:30-8:30 at the Walmer Road Baptist Church (188 Lowther Ave) and very much hope to see many of you in attendance.  Please spread the word!

3. Wanted to share with you the Rail Safety First submission for the Standing Committee on Transportation. Henry and Murray are to be commended for pulling together this impressive document with very short notice.

Lastly, Rail Safety First has been invited to participate in a round table discussion with Transport Minister Marc Garneau and other key stakeholders this Wednesday before the Town Hall so we will keep you updated on the outcome of that meeting.

Thank you for your continued support!

Best,

Claire

Dear Neighbours,

Construction activities are progressing well at Bayview Junction and we are currently on-track to meet the June completion date.

Arno Electric, Hydro One’s electrical contractor, has completed removing their equipment and materials from site. We have now begun installing the posts for the new wall and the panels are expected to arrive on-site tomorrow. Following this, we will commence wall installation.  In the next few days, we will be removing one of the existing Serbian Spruce trees as indicated in the site landscaping plan.

We are pleased to inform you we have secured Cambridge Landscaping to complete the landscaping of the area. As construction activities continue to advance, we will keep you updated on our progress and any planned changes to the schedule.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks,

Dana Gardner
